Diabetes Control can be less often

Well set diabetes patients do not have to visit the General Practitioner four times a year. Only twice a year is sufficient. That is the conclusion of Paulien Wermeling, physician-researcher at Julius Center of the UMC Utrecht, in her doctoral research. The general guideline is adjusted accordingly.
Diabetic patients now visit four general practices times a year. Once for the annual inspection by the doctor and three times for a check by the nurse. This frequency is not based on scientific research and the question is whether it is necessary four times a year.
