She teaches "Methodology of Clinical Trials" to third year students of Biomedical Sciences. She is also involved in general biostatistical courses for researchers.
She advises researchers from the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU) on the statistical aspects of the design and analysis of their scientific research. Her main interest is in the application of (group) sequential analysis, planning and implementation of clinical trials and meta-analysis.
As a statistician, she is a member of several Data Safety and Monitoring Boards.
Her PhD-thesis was entitled: “Application and efficiency of sequential tests in matched case-control studies”. She investigates the application of sequential analysis in clinical trials, epidemiological and genetic studies, and in meta-analyses.
