Irene Agyepong in Top 100 Women Leaders in Global Health
In November 2014, Ilona Kickbusch, Director of the Global Health Programme at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, launched a Twitter campaign aimed at showcasing female leadership in global health. Irene Agyepong, PhD, made it to the ‘top 100 Women Leaders in Global Health’. She was Professor to the Prince Claus Chair in Development and Equity at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, based in UMC Utrecht Julius Center.
Given her expertise in health systems and health policy research, combined with the importance of reproductive health in Ghana, a research program on improving quality of care to pregnant women and their newborns was developed in collaboration with Julius Global Health.
